White, SLAC, USA Abstract The ATF2 project is the final focus system prototype for ILC and CLIC linear collider projects, with a purpose to reach a 37nm vertical beam size at the interaction point. In beam tuning towards the goal beam size, the presence of a tilt of the IP Shintake monitor fringe pattern with respect to the x-y coordinate system of the beam can break the orthogonality in the main σ34 and σ32 waist corrections required to reduce the vertical beam size at IP. Concerning the method of doing αx scan and measuring the vertical beam size to diagnose the IPBSM fringe tilt or residual σ13, one thing should be studied is to check what could break the orthogonality of the αx knob other than σ13 and the IPBSM fringe tilt. In this paper, we report on the simulation study that check for the breaking of orthogonality of the αx knob in the presence of gradient and coupling errors; to what extent this breaking of orthogonality can go; and also calculate the IPBSM fringe tilt angle from experiment results.

A Volumetric Approach for Interactive 3D Modeling
Range image registration and surface reconstruction have been traditionally considered as two independent processes where the latter relies on the results of the former. This paper presents a new approach to surface recovery from range images where the two processes are unified and performed in a common volumetric representation. While the reconstructed surface is described in its implicit form...

متن کاملNumerical Investigation of the Separated Flow over a Smoothly Contoured Ramp
Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and Reynoldsaveraged Navier-Stokes (RANS) calculations have been used to predict the development, separation, reattachment and downstream recovery of the flow over a smoothly contoured ramp. The statistically two-dimensional upstream flow separates along the ramp surface and then reattaches downstream on a flat section. A canonical flatplate turbulent boundary layer ...

Rhenium-185/187 solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) experiments using NaReO(4) and NH(4)ReO(4) powders provide unambiguous evidence for the existence of high-order quadrupole-induced effects (HOQIE) in SSNMR spectra. Fine structure, not predicted by second-order perturbation theory, has been observed in the (185/187)Re SSNMR spectrum of NaReO(4) at 11.75 T, where the ratio of the Lar...
متن کاملPractical Use of Computer Simulation for Advanced Induction Coil and Process Design
The experience, of the authors, in the development and practical use of different programs for 1-D and 2-D simulation of induction heating processes is presented in this paper. A comparison, of simulation versus experimental approach, is discussed. Some examples of 1-D and 2-D computer simulation are presented in this paper for “real world” problems. It’s shown that the accuracy, of computer si...
